REDD+ aims to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and contribute to sustainable forest management, conservation and enhancement of carbon stocks.
A clear definition of forest is import because it affect estimates of deforestation and forest degradation areas and hence emissions. It is also important for planning and decision making processes aiming at improving forest management.
